Description: Maximo Anywhere is a desktop application for building and deploying mobile applications that integrate with the International Business Machines (IBM) Maximo Asset Management software. Applications developed by this technology provide mobile users with protected access to data and services while online or offline. This technology is built on the IBM MobileFirst platform and provides resources to manage the lifecycle of applications and allows users to configure mobile applications with an enterprise system during run time.

This technology may be configured upon installation to use one of the following databases to store data; DB2 (v10.1 and 10.5.x), MySQL (v5.5.x and 5.6.x), Microsoft Structured Query Language Sever (v2016.x), and Oracle Database (11g Standard/Enterprise Editions Release 2). Only TRM approved databases may be configured for use.

This entry covers the Desktop Edition of this technology and not any mobile versions. Please note that the implementation of mobile technology application that operates on Mobile Operating System must be reviewed and approved by the Mobile Technology and Endpoint Security Engineering Team: http://vaww.eie.va.gov/SysDesign/CS/MT/default.aspx.

Users must ensure sensitive data is properly protected in compliance with all VA regulations. Prior to use of this technology, users should check with their supervisor, Information Security Officer (ISO), Facility Chief Information Officer (CIO), or local Office of Information and Technology (OI&T) representative to ensure that all actions are consistent with current VA policies and procedures prior to implementation.
