Description: Postman is a collaboration platform for Application Programming Interface (API) development. This technology includes functionalities for API-first and application development, exploratory and automated testing, and developer onboarding. Postman provides a shared context for building and consuming APIs and allows users to collaborate in real-time with built-in version control. Additionally, this technology supports monitoring and allows users to check the performance and response times of their APIs at scheduled intervals.

This technology is available in three editions: Postman, Postman Pro, and Postman Enterprise. All three editions have the same base capabilities. Postman does not have a licensing fee associated with it and is best suited for individuals and small projects. Postman Pro includes professional collaboration features and extended functionalities for development teams. Postman Enterprise includes extended support and additional, enterprise-only, features. The scope of this entry covers the three desktop application editions listed above. This entry does not cover the Chrome Plug-In as there is a separate TRM entry, Postman Chrome Plugin, that addresses it.

This technology may read and write data to any Representational State Transfer (REST)-enabled, TRM approved, database such as the Microsoft Structured Query Language (SQL) Server database and Oracle Database.
