Description: NHibernate is an open source Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) solution for the Microsoft .NET platform. NHibernate implements the ORM concepts by providing a framework to map database tables to business objects using a standard Extensible Markup Language (XML) format for each mapping and the database configuration. NHibernate is database independent, therefore the mappings are the same for all databases. This software also provides mapping solutions for a variety of object-oriented concepts such as inheritance, polymorphism, and the .NET collections framework including generic collections.

NHibernate supports configuration with several VA-supported relational databases including Microsoft Structured Query Language (SQL) Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle, DB2, and SQLite. The database includes the relational schema and possibly stored procedures.
