Description: Visual Basic .NET (VB.NET) is a multi-paradigm, high level programming language that is implemented on the .NET Framework. Along with Visual C#, this VB.NET uses statements to specify actions. The most common statement is an expression statement, consisting of an expression to be evaluated, on a single line. As part of that evaluation, functions or subroutines can be called and variables can be assigned new values. To modify the normal sequential execution of statements, VB.NET provides several control-flow statements identified by reserved keywords.

Users must note that the Visual Basic. NET website provided instructs the user to go to Visual Studio to obtain this standard.
Technology/Standard Usage Requirements: Users must ensure their use of this technology/standard is consistent with VA policies and standards, including, but not limited to, VA Handbooks 6102 and 6500; VA Directives 6004, 6513, and 6517; and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) standards, including Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS).
