Description: Corepoint Integration Engine is an interface engine that provides message management, routing, mapping, and database access interoperability for hospitals, radiology centers, laboratories, and clinics. This technology`s application programming interface (API) allows for the building of healthcare interfaces, including support for many message formats including Health Level Seven (HL7), Extensible Markup Language (XML), Comma-Separated Values (CSV), X12 Messaging Standard, Clinical Document Architecture (CDA), Continuity of Care Record (CCR), Continuity of Care Document (CCD), Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM), and custom formats. This technology supports transmission of the aforementioned message formats via different protocols including Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), Minimum Layer Protocol (MLP), HyperText Transfer Protocol (HTTP), Microsoft Message Queuing (MSMQ), Web Services (WS)-Reliable Messaging, etc.

Corepoint Integration Engine supports Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) compliant databases, including Oracle Database, Microsoft Structured Query Language (SQL) Server database, Microsoft Access, and MySQL. The qualified configuration for the product uses Microsoft SQL Server.

Users must ensure sensitive data is properly protected in compliance with all VA regulations. Prior to use of this technology, users should check with their supervisor, Information Security Officer (ISO), Facility Chief Information Officer (CIO), or local Office of Information and Technology (OI&T) representative to ensure that all actions are consistent with current VA policies and procedures prior to implementation.
