Description: The Synergy Ophthalmic Data Management (ODM) System is a browser-based software application that integrated with an existing enterprise network and collects and outputs diagnostic data in real time. This technology provides eye care professionals the ability to collect, store, manage, and access digital ophthalmic data, created by over 130 different compatible ophthalmic devices, including TOPCON and non-TOPCON devices. This technology can view, compare, annotate, and transmit patient images. Additionally, this system allows for secure access to patient information from anywhere, including workstations and remote computers.

This technology can connect with an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) or Practice Management system such as IMAGEnet, a Microsoft SQL Server database, to store ophthalmic images received from ophthalmic medical devices used at the VA.

This technology is available as an on-premise installation or a cloud-based solution.

The TRM decisions in this entry only apply to technologies and versions owned, operated, managed, patched, and version-controlled by VA. This includes technologies deployed as software on VMs within VA-controlled cloud environments (e.g. VA Enterprise Cloud (VAEC)). Cloud services provided by the VAEC and those controlled and managed by an external Cloud Service Provider (i.e. SaaS) are not in the purview of the TRM. For more information on the use of cloud services and cloud-based products within VA, including VA private clouds, please see the Enterprise Cloud Solutions Office (ECSO) Portal at:
