Description: Safe Patient Handling (SPH) Navigator is a lean process improvement solution that works in-conjunction with various lift hardware equipment. This technology monitors patient handling activities in real time, where patient lift data is tracked through on site sensors that constantly send updated information to a central location.

Data collected by this technology is stored on a Microsoft Structured Query Language (SQL) Server database.

This technology`s Lift transmitter is installed on lifts and transmits data to client machine on site. The Client machine aggregates the lift data and sends it to the reporting portal server in the proprietary cloud. The Cloud portal has dashboards, reporting, and other functions available only for authorized users. The reports accessible from any computer, smart phone, or tablet.

Prior to use of this technology, users should check with their supervisor, Information Security Officer (ISO), Facility Chief Information Officer (CIO), or local Office of Information and Technology (OI&T) representative to ensure that all actions are consistent with current VA policies and procedures prior to implementation.
