Description: The Oracle Virtual Desktop Client provides the ability to remotely connect to workstations or servers. This technology allows users to access desktop applications, data sets, and systems in a secure location while being physically located elsewhere.

Please note that the vendor has discontinued this software and only provides sustaining support for it. However, further updates or patches to the Virtual Desktop Client are no longer provided. Oracle’s tier definitions for support are clearly defined via the following webpage: https://www.oracle.com/support/lifetime-support/software.html.

This entry covers the Desktop Edition of this technology and not any mobile versions. Users must ensure sensitive data is properly protected in compliance with all VA regulations. Prior to use of this technology, users should check with their supervisor, Information Security Officer (ISO), Facility Chief Information Officer (CIO), or local Office of Information and Technology (OI&T) representative to ensure that all actions are consistent with current VA policies and procedures prior to implementation.
