Description: Badboy is a testing and development software for use with Web applications. This technology allows users to create and configure suites, tests, and steps that function as a debugger for a browser. Badboy combines a capture and replay style testing tool with the live diagnostics on the activities a user`s browser is performing while navigating a website.

This technology is available in two editions; free or paid. The free edition of this technology may be downloaded without cost and is meant to be used solely for non-profit or private purposes. The paid edition of this technology is intended to be used in a corporate setting. The functionality of these two editions is identical. The scope of this entry covers both editions.

This technology does not utilize a database, as files and recordings generated by this technology are saved to the user`s local drive.

The Badboy technology and their website are closed for business and is no longer accessible. The software is no longer available for download or purchase.
Technology/Standard Usage Requirements: Users must ensure their use of this technology/standard is consistent with VA policies and standards, including, but not limited to, VA Handbooks 6102 and 6500; VA Directives 6004, 6513, and 6517; and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) standards, including Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS). Users must ensure sensitive data is properly protected in compliance with all VA regulations. Prior to use of this technology, users should check with their supervisor, Information Security Officer (ISO), Facility Chief Information Officer (CIO), or local Office of Information and Technology (OI&T) representative to ensure that all actions are consistent with current VA policies and procedures prior to implementation.
