Description: GitKraken is a Git Graphical User Interface (GUI). This technology allows users to open, create, and clone repositories, create branches, and share code from a single client. GitKraken provides a visual interface in which users may view and manipulate the branching, margining, and commit history of projects. This technology also includes a built-in code editor with functionality such as syntax highlighting, file searching, and a file minimap. Additionally, this technology includes support for integrating with remote repositories such as GitHub, GitLab, and Bitbucket.

This technology is available in three editions; Client, Pro, and Enterprise. The Client edition does not have a licensing fee associated with it, includes all of the base functionality of the software, and is designed for teams developing open source, early-stage, and non-commercial projects. The Pro edition is intended for commercial use and includes additional features such as support for multiple profiles and GitHub and GitLab integration. The Enterprise edition contains all of the functionality of the Client and Pro editions as well as support for server installation, local account management, and full Information Technology (IT) control over releases. The scope of this entry covers all three editions.

This technology may be configured to store data in a local or remote repository. Users may connect to services such as GitHub Desktop for access to local or remote repositories.
