Description: DSS RadWise is a qualified Clinical Decision Support Mechanism (qCDSM). This technology provides evidence-based knowledge to diagnostic imaging. This technology offers Appropriate Use Criteria (AUC) recommendations for Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) regulation compliance. DSS RadWise enables users to access Sage Evidence-based Medicine and Practice Institute (SEMPI) evidence-based radiology decisions content.

This software can be hosted on-premise as well as hosted in the cloud. This technology relies on Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VistA) for its database capabilities, where patient data is actively maintained and saved in a Cache database. Recommendation information and unique order identification (ID) numbers are stored within Microsoft Structured Query Language (SQL) Server database for reporting purposes.

The TRM decisions in this entry only apply to technologies and versions owned, operated, managed, patched, and version-controlled by VA. This includes technologies deployed as software on VMs within VA-controlled cloud environments (e.g. VA Enterprise Cloud (VAEC)). Cloud services provided by the VAEC and those controlled and managed by an external Cloud Service Provider (i.e. SaaS) are not in the purview of the TRM. For more information on the use of cloud services and cloud-based products within VA, including VA private clouds, please see the Enterprise Cloud Solutions Office (ECSO) Portal at: https://vaww.portal.va.gov/sites/ECS/SitePages/Home.aspx
