Description: Lucee (also known as Lucee Server) is an open source ColdFusion Markup Language (CFML) server that is written in Java and runs in a Java Servlet Container. The server implements a language that uses a mixture of tags and script syntax to create web pages and applications for deployment on a variety of platforms. Lucee has built-in support for retrieving and consuming data returned from existing web services, and can configure and expose web services to be consumed.

Lucee can be installed on any of the servers requested. They can run on the Amazon cloud, Docker containers, locally, in a virtual environment, or any hosted environment. This technology stores server settings on a local drive on the server machine, and supports all types of encryption, including one where it runs in a read-only environment with 256-bit encryption with a private and public key.

The TRM decisions in this entry only apply to technologies and versions owned, operated, managed, patched, and version-controlled by VA. This includes technologies deployed as software on VMs within VA-controlled cloud environments (e.g. VA Enterprise Cloud (VAEC)). Cloud services provided by the VAEC and those controlled and managed by an external Cloud Service Provider (i.e. SaaS) are not in the purview of the TRM. For more information on the use of cloud services and cloud-based products within VA, including VA private clouds, please see the Enterprise Cloud Solutions Office (ECSO) Portal at: https://vaww.portal.va.gov/sites/ECS/SitePages/Home.aspx.
