General Information

Description: The FreshDate software is used to create new or edit existing labels for the FreshDate labeling system. This software manages and transfers files from a computer to the FreshDate label printer hardware device. This software can also update the printer`s data files and upload the product data file from the printer to the computer.

This technology does not utilize a database as data is stored on the user`s local drive.

Users must ensure sensitive data is properly protected in compliance with all VA regulations. Prior to use of this technology, users should check with their supervisor, Information System Security Officer (ISSO), Facility Chief Information Officer (CIO), or local Office of Information and Technology (OI&T) representative to ensure that all actions are consistent with current VA policies and procedures prior to implementation.
