Description: Docker Compose (Community) is a platform for defining and running multi-container Docker applications. This technology allows users to interact with the services of an application by using a Yamal Ain`t Markup Language (YAMAL) based Compose file. The Compose file allows users to document and configure the service dependencies of an application such as queues, caches, and web service Application Programming Interfaces (APIs). This technology is versioned and packaged separately from Docker, which is a separate entry in the TRM.

This product does not require a database.

On desktop systems like Docker Desktop for Mac and Windows, Docker Compose is included as part of those desktop installs.

On Linux systems, first install the Docker Engine for your OS as described on the Get Docker page, then come back here for instructions on installing Compose on Linux systems.

This TRM entry refers to the community edition of Docker Compose that can be installed without another Docker product. Docker Compose is also part of other Docker Enterprise supported products and when it is bundled and supported with those products it becomes a component of those products and this TRM decision does not directly apply to those Enterprise supported versions. See the TRM entries on other Docker Enterprise products that bundle Docker Compose for more information on their approval.
