General Information

Description: WinDSX is built with Microsoft applications and combines point monitoring and access control with Photo Identification Badging, Time and Attendance, Alarm Graphics, Digital Video Recording (DVR)/Network Video Recording (NVR) Integration, Elevator Control, Alarm Email/Text Message Notification, Threat Level Management, HazMat and Emergency Lockdown, and Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS)/Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card compatibility.

DSX is the vendor and product name, it is not an abbreviation.

WinDSX has two different editions: WinDSX Access and WinDSX Structured Query Language (SQL). The WinDSX software uses Microsoft Access files to store data and the WinDSX SQL software uses Microsoft SQL Server to store data. This entry only covers the WinDSX SQL edition.

This entry covers the Desktop Edition of this technology and not any mobile versions. Users must ensure sensitive data is properly protected in compliance with all VA regulations. Prior to use of this technology, users should check with their supervisor, Information System Security Officer (ISSO), Facility Chief Information Officer (CIO), or local Office of Information and Technology (OI&T) representative to ensure that all actions are consistent with current VA policies and procedures prior to implementation.
