Slack is a collaboration hub. Users can direct message each other, set up group channels, share documents, conduct conference calls, and use video.

Use case

Slack provides a solution for VA teams looking to solve the problem of lost time through inefficient communication and fragmented conversation. The tool allows for conversation-centric, channel-based communication.

Slack is authorized for authority to operate (ATO) low usage; it cannot include any protected health information (PHI). Slack workspaces not created by VA's SaaS team may not have the necessary controls in place and are not covered by this ATO.

If VA employees would like to use or purchase this service, please submit a SaaS inquiry form to confirm your use case and get procurement approval.
