In 2018, VA’s Office of Information Technology took a bold step toward modernizing the VA. We created the Digital Transformation Center. It’s an empowered team accelerating VA’s digital modernization and use of emerging technologies to better serve Veterans and military families.

- The team helps VA employees navigate the process to request and implement SaaS and PaaS products.
- Our multi-disciplinary team includes expert technologists, security experts, and product managers to help VA employees throughout the end-to-end process.
- We are working hard to build out the marketplace with additional products!
Software as a service, or SaaS, products are ready-to-use software products that are immediately available from third-party software companies.
Platform as a service, or PaaS, products are hardware and software tools from third-party software companies that equip VA teams with the building blocks to create their own customized applications (with the help of a qualified developer). The programs created can be for local use only, or scaled up for deployment throughout VA.
