Description: IBM Spectrum Load Sharing Facility (LSF), formerly known as IBM Platform LSF, is an enterprise workload management platform and job scheduler for distributed high performance computing (HPC) cluster environments. IBM Platform LSF enables load sharing by distributing jobs to available central processing units (CPUs) in heterogeneous networks.

IBM Spectrum Load Sharing Facility (LSF) 10.1 is available in: IBM Spectrum Load Sharing Facility (LSF) Suite for Enterprise, IBM Spectrum Load Sharing Facility (LSF) Suite for HPC, IBM Spectrum Load Sharing Facility (LSF) Suite for Workgroups, and IBM Spectrum Load Sharing Facility (LSF) Community Edition.

The vendor offers a free Community Edition download. This assessment only covers the commercial editions.

Users must ensure sensitive data is properly protected in compliance with all VA regulations. Prior to use of this technology, users should check with their supervisor, Information Security Officer (ISO), Facility Chief Information Officer (CIO), or local Office of Information and Technology (OI&T) representative to ensure that all actions are consistent with current VA policies and procedures prior to implementation.
