Description: Apple Remote Desktop (ARD) is a macOS desktop management system for software distribution, asset management, and remote assistance. ARD can search via Spotlight across multiple systems, automate repetitive tasks and use AutoInstall to automatically update software on mobile systems when they return to the network.

Apple Remote Desktop can compile reports on application usage, history, and inventory. The results of these reports are then stored within the packaged SQLite Database.

This entry covers the Desktop Edition of this technology and not any mobile versions. Please note that the implementation of mobile technology applications that operate on Mobile Operating Systems must be reviewed and approved by the Mobile Technology and Endpoint Security Engineering Team: http://vaww.eie.va.gov/SysDesign/CS/MT/default.aspx
