Description: Curry Signal Processing technology provides all the options for processing Electroencephalogram (EEG) and Magnetoencephalography (MEG) data. This technology includes two-dimensional (2D) and three-dimensional (3D) mapping. The 2D map view allows users to customize a single map in both the time and frequency domains. The 3D mapping will enable users to visualize and manipulate electrodes, data and head model. Also, the function of this technology includes user-determined re-referencing, filtering, baseline correction, artifact reduction, averaging, noise estimation, Principle Component Analysis (PCA), Independent Component Analysis (ICA), and spectral analysis.

The Signal Processing module is part of the Curry Neuroimaging Suite. The Curry Neuroimaging Suite software is divided into several modules that can stand alone or work together. The Curry 7 modules utilize Microsoft Access, while the Curry 8 modules utilize SQLite, by default. The technology uses a database structure that allows for optimized data management. Within the database, subjects can inherit the parent`s parameters, allowing automated processing to be built into the database. Additionally, macros can be developed to handle most processing task, complete with the ability to design interactive and tutorial programs. The database is used to select the files users want to work with. The database stores only reference to data files, i.e. their file names and folder paths, and not the files themselves. Database files do not contain the data themselves but rather point to the files on the hard drive (or external drive).
Technology/Standard Usage Requirements: Users must ensure their use of this technology/standard is consistent with VA policies and standards, including, but not limited to, VA Handbooks 6102 and 6500; VA Directives 6004, 6513, and 6517; and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) standards, including Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS). Users must ensure sensitive data is properly protected in compliance with all VA regulations. Prior to use of this technology, users should check with their supervisor, Information Security Officer (ISO), Facility Chief Information Officer (CIO), or local Office of Information and Technology (OI&T) representative to ensure that all actions are consistent with current VA policies and procedures prior to implementation.
Section 508 Information: This technology has not been assessed by the Section 508 Office. The Implementer of this technology has the responsibility to ensure the version deployed is 508-compliant. Section 508 compliance may be reviewed by the Section 508 Office and appropriate remedial action required if necessary. For additional information or assistance regarding Section 508, please contact the Section 508 Office at Section508@va.gov.
