Description: Memcache Daemon (Memcached) is an open source cache system that manages memory. The main function of this technology is that it stores key-value pairs in memory and can cache data, such as complex structures, documents and images. This technology is intended for speeding up web applications by using a language and a database synchronously. Furthermore, this technology can be used with multiple languages, including Perl, Ruby, Hypertext Preprocessor (PHP), and Python.

This technology has the option to connect to a MySQL database. The data is stored in an available random-access memory (RAM) for access by applications. The RAM cache is populated from the backing store, a MySQL database. If a memcached server fails, the data can always be recovered from the MySQL database.
