Description: Vensim is a visual modeling application used to conceptualize, document, simulate, analyze, and optimize models of dynamic systems. Vensim provides a way of building simulation models from causal loop or stock and flow diagrams.

Vensim is available in three different editions: Personal Learning Edition (PLE), Professional, and DSS. This entry covers all editions.

Vensim DSS employs a database as the source of values for model constants, lookups, data variables, and results. At the end of a simulation, users can run a script that writes the simulation output back to the database. Vensim DSS utilizes an Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) driver to access databases. As such, this software is compatible with various databases, including Oracle databases and Microsoft Structured Query Language (SQL) Server databases. Furthermore, users can read/write from and to ODBC databases, as well as manipulate data.
