Description: Veterans Health Gateway (VHG) is a server-side, medical expert system that provides nurses with clinical decision support when evaluating patients with active symptoms. VHG uses proprietary algorithms to analyze symptoms and past medical history, and then makes a recommendation on how quickly the patient should be seen. VHG is integrated with Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VistA). DSHI partners with DSS to develop and maintain this software.

This technology stores data in a Microsoft Structured Query Language (SQL) Server database.

Please note: Per the vendor, this technology was sunset effective January 1, 2017. Veterans Health Gateway (VHG) was replaced with Triage Expert Dual Purpose (TEDP) which also is no longer a standalone product, as it has been folded into the DSS TeleCare Record Manager (TRM) as a component. Please see the DSS TeleCare Record Manager (TRM) entry in One-VA TRM for more information. Additionally, the web page is not active.
