Description: Laerdal Learning Application (LLEAP) Software unifies the control of all Personal Computer (PC) operated Laerdal simulators as well as simulations with standardized patients and task trainers. This software may help the user find scenarios, conduct simulation training and develop new scenarios to help meet patients` learning objectives. Additionally, the LLEAP interface is based upon the SimMan third generation (3G) software, and it incorporates new functionality such as event registration, automatic updates when connected to the internet, and built-in video tutorials to help simplify simulation for faculty and staff.

This technology may store data on the user`s local drive.

LLEAP Standard, LLEAP Fundamentals, and LLEAP Lite are the three different editions of this software. This entry covers all three.

Please note that Laerdal Instructor Graphical User Interface (GUI) and Patient Monitor software was discontinued September 2014 and replaced by Laerdal Learning Application (LLEAP) Software.

Please note that the Laerdal Learning Application (LLEAP) Software does not store Personally Identifiable Information (PII), Protected Health Information (PHI) or sensitive data. The technology`s functionality is for the facilitation of medical education through simulated training.

This entry covers the Desktop Edition of this technology and not any mobile versions. Please note that the implementation of mobile technology applications that operate on Mobile Operating Systems must be reviewed and approved by the Mobile Technology and Endpoint Security Engineering Team: http://vaww.eie.va.gov/SysDesign/CS/MT/default.aspx

The TRM decisions in this entry only apply to technologies and versions owned, operated, managed, patched, and version-controlled by VA. This includes technologies deployed as software installations on VMs within VA-controlled cloud environments (e.g., VA Enterprise Cloud (VAEC)). Cloud services provided by the VAEC, which are listed in the VAEC Service Catalog, and those controlled and managed by an external Cloud Service Provider (i.e., SaaS) are not in the purview of the TRM. For more information on the use of cloud services and cloud-based products within VA, including VA private clouds, please see the Enterprise Cloud Solutions Office (ECSO) Portal at: https://dvagov.sharepoint.com/sites/OITEPMOECSO
