Description: Jaspersoft Studio is an Eclipse-based report designer for JasperReports and JasperReports Server. This technology allows users to create layouts containing charts, images, sub-reports, and crosstabs. With this technology, data can be accessed from various sources and reports can be published in many file formats.

There are two editions of this technology: Community and Professional. The Community edition contains all the base functionality of Jaspersoft Studio while the Professional edition includes additional features like the ability to import data from TIBCO Spotfire, additional maps, and advanced Hypertext Markup Language 5 (HTML5) charts, as well as professional support. The scope of this entry is for both editions.

This technology does not make use of a database to save or export reports. All reports generated by this technology may be saved to the user`s local drive or exported as OpenOffice, PowerPoint, Rich Text Format (RTF), Microsoft Word or Excel, Comma-Separated Values (CSV), JavaScript Object Notation (JSON), or Extensible Markup Language (XML) format.
Technology/Standard Usage Requirements: Users must ensure their use of this technology/standard is consistent with VA policies and standards, including, but not limited to, VA Handbooks 6102 and 6500; VA Directives 6004, 6513, and 6517; and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) standards, including Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS). Users must ensure sensitive data is properly protected in compliance with all VA regulations. Prior to use of this technology, users should check with their supervisor, Information Security Officer (ISO), Facility Chief Information Officer (CIO), or local Office of Information and Technology (OI&T) representative to ensure that all actions are consistent with current VA policies and procedures prior to implementation.
