Description: Exercise Pro is a technology used for exercise education. This software is able to create home exercise and fitness patient programs and informational handouts, drawing from over 3,000 exercises. The variety of available exercises, from low level rehabilitation to high-level fitness, can be searched by body area, muscles, position, and equipment used. This technology is used by physical therapy, hospital, rehabilitation, and home healthcare professionals to address issues such as diabetic foot care, crutch training, transfers, and body mechanics.

This technology is available in two editions, Exercise Pro and Exercise Pro Live. Exercise pro is available for purchase as a single computer install or as a multi concurrent license network. Exercise Pro Live contains the same functionality but is a web-based deployment. The scope of this entry only covers the single computer install of the Exercise Pro edition.

This product stores data in a Microsoft Structured Query Language (SQL) Server database, including patient name, practitioner name, and exercise program.
Technology/Standard Usage Requirements: Users must ensure their use of this technology/standard is consistent with VA policies and standards, including, but not limited to, VA Handbooks 6102 and 6500; VA Directives 6004, 6513, and 6517; and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) standards, including Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS). Users must ensure sensitive data is properly protected in compliance with all VA regulations. Prior to use of this technology, users should check with their supervisor, Information Security Officer (ISO), Facility Chief Information Officer (CIO), or local Office of Information and Technology (OI&T) representative to ensure that all actions are consistent with current VA policies and procedures prior to implementation.
