Description: Mindfulness Suite is designed by Inna Khazan, Ph.D.(doctor of philosophy), as technology for any clinician that desires to establish a biofeedback practice with a mindfulness acceptance-based approach. This technology measures a variety of psychophysiological parameters to assess and train individuals` self-regulation and mindfulness.

The Mindfulness Suite includes:
• Psychophysiological stress profile assessment with automatic graphing of results into an easy-to-read excel report.
• Relaxation profile assessment for evaluation of the individual’s ability to recover and utilize various relaxation or meditative technique in self regulation. The assessment includes an automated excel report that translates relevant data into easy-to-read graphs.
• Choice of resonance frequency (RF) evaluations for individuals of different heights, since RF breathing rates are height dependent:
1. Child assessment with higher respiration rates.
2. Assessment for taller individuals with lower respiration rates.
3. The traditional resonance frequency assessment with automatic graphing of results, to simplify data analysis.
• Working-at-a-Computer assessment with an automated Excel reporting function. This assessment follows Dr. Erik Pepper’s template for an effective way to evaluate EMG (electromyography) and breathing activity for individuals who spend significant time working at the computer and experience muscle pain and tension.
• Temporomandibular Joint Disorder (TMJD) assessment of muscle function for individuals affected by Temporomandibular Joint Disorder. This assessment allows clinicians to chose from a variety of Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) activities that are most relevant to each individual client for a comprehensive overview of each individual’s muscle function.
• Simple Baseline recording with an automated excel report to allow clinicians an easy way to record baseline measurements from all peripheral modalities (heart rate, heart rate variability, breathing, muscle tension, temperature, and skin conductance) and receive an Excel report to summarize recorded data.
• Pre-grouped monitoring and training screens, that follow Dr. Khazan’s style of biofeedback training. Data is obtained from muscle tension, respiration, heart rate (BVP - blood volume pulse or EKG - electrocardiogram), skin conductance and temperature. The display screens are for 1 or 2-monitor setups.

This technology does not utilize a database. Reports generated from this technology are formatted in Microsoft Word or Excel and can be saved on the machine`s local hard drive.
Technology/Standard Usage Requirements: Users must ensure their use of this technology/standard is consistent with VA policies and standards, including, but not limited to, VA Handbooks 6102 and 6500; VA Directives 6004, 6513, and 6517; and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) standards, including Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS). Users must ensure sensitive data is properly protected in compliance with all VA regulations. Prior to use of this technology, users should check with their supervisor, Information System Security Officer (ISSO), Facility Chief Information Officer (CIO), or local Office of Information and Technology (OI&T) representative to ensure that all actions are consistent with current VA policies and procedures prior to implementation.
Section 508 Information: This technology has not been assessed by the Section 508 Office. The Implementer of this technology has the responsibility to ensure the version deployed is 508-compliant.
