Description: Datacom/AD is a relational database management system that is used by many CA Technologies products. This technology is a subset of the Datacom product line. This technology provides for the access and storage of the data of various application products. The complete line of Datacom products is optionally available for use with this relational data.

Datacom/AD is the free version of the database product Datacom/DB (Database). Datacom/AD has all of the functions of the full Datacom/DB product, with the exception that Datacom/AD does not permit the use of user-defined databases. For several CA products, the installation of Datacom/AD is still required even if Datacom/DB is already installed.

This TRM entry applies only to the stand-alone edition of the Datacom/AD database and not any instances of Datacom/AD that act as a managed component of another software. Any managed component instances of this database must be added to the `Component` tab of the parent technology in which it is embedded via a TRM update request for the parent software.

The previous vendor of this technology, CA Technologies, was acquired by the current vendor, Broadcom, in 2020.
