Description: Activity Measure for Post Acute Care (AM-PAC) measurement system was developed by researchers at Boston University’s Health and Disability Research Institute to assess activity limitation across post-acute care settings. The AM-PAC assesses different aspects of an individual`s ability to perform everyday activities and consists of items that assess activities in three different areas of function, or domains (Basic Mobility, Daily Activity, and Applied Cognitive). Each AM-PAC domain includes items with a wide range of difficulty that are calibrated from least to most difficult using Item Response Theory (IRT) methods.

This solution is available as a paper-and-pencil short form designed for inpatient and outpatient settings, or as Computerized Adaptive Tests (CATs). The AM-PAC CAT uses a computer algorithm to pre-select the items that will be administered to a specific patient based on responses to previous items. Two versions of the AM-PAC CAT are available, a free-standing computer version and web-based computer version.
