Description: Aperio ImageScope is a pathology slide viewing platform. This technology is designed to view and manipulate digital pathology whole slide images and eSlides. This application allows users to share and discuss eSlides in real-time in multiple remote locations with conferencing functionalities and allows users to view multiple slides concurrently. This platform includes image adjustment functionalities to edit the contrast, brightness, and gamma of slides. Aperio ImageScope also includes features for annotating and analyzing eSlides and images. Additionally, this technology has the capability to be integrated with a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) for data management, workflow automation, and data storage.

This technology may be configured to access and store images via Aperio eSlide Manager Application Server, a Microsoft Structured Query Language (SQL) Server Database. This technology may also be configured with LIMS integration to store images directly to the storage location associated with the LIMS implementation.
Technology/Standard Usage Requirements: Users must ensure their use of this technology/standard is consistent with VA policies and standards, including, but not limited to, VA Handbooks 6102 and 6500; VA Directives 6004, 6513, and 6517; and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) standards, including Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS). Users must ensure sensitive data is properly protected in compliance with all VA regulations. Prior to use of this technology, users should check with their supervisor, Information Security Officer (ISO), Facility Chief Information Officer (CIO), or local Office of Information and Technology (OI&T) representative to ensure that all actions are consistent with current VA policies and procedures prior to implementation.
