Description: epoc Enterprise Data Manager (EDM) is web-based software used in conjunction with the epoc Blood Analysis System to collect blood test results from epoc Hosts, and also helps manage the entire epoc System. This software also controls and manages the epoc Blood Analysis System`s inventory usage.

The EDM technology resides on a dedicated server or virtual server accessed using Microsoft Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Google Chrome. Blood test results are transmitted from the epoc devices to the EDM via Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN). A Health Level Seven (HL7) Interface is then used to send patient test results from the EDM to Laboratory Information Systems/Hospital Information Systems (LIS/HIS).

This technology stores data in a Microsoft Structured Query Language (SQL) Server database.

Epoc EDM does not have a dedicated website associated with it.

Users must ensure sensitive data is properly protected in compliance with all VA regulations. Prior to use of this technology, users should check with their supervisor, Information Security Officer (ISO), Facility Chief Information Officer (CIO), or local Office of Information and Technology (OI&T) representative to ensure that all actions are consistent with current VA policies and procedures prior to implementation.
