Description: Centricity Universal Viewer (CUV) is a unified, web-based Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) workspace for radiologists, cardiologists, and clinicians. The software is designed to provide enhanced usability and access, advanced visualization, breast imaging, and cardiology image review and analysis. Users can read and review radiological and cardiology images and patient reports, as well as run diagnostic tools. Centricity Universal Viewer (CUV) is a component of Centricity Cardio Enterprise (CCE).

Centricity Universal Viewer connects to modalities via standard Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) communication (X-ray and Ultrasound). These connections are used to send the DICOM Modality Worklist from the servers to the modalities and to send the images from the modalities to the servers. Interfaces from the servers to the Veterans Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VistA) and Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS) are standard Health Level Seven (HL7) communication. CUV software stores all patient data in a Microsoft Structured Query Language (SQL) Server database on the Enterprise Archive. Database data encryption has not been tested for this product. No patient data or Protected Health Information (PHI) is stored to the client once the application is closed. During the viewing session, PHI and patient data are stored to Random Access Memory (RAM) and the hard drive, but is deleted when the application is closed. The data that is transferred between the client and servers can be encrypted using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)/Transport Layer Security (TLS) with the Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) Server on the Enterprise Archive, which will encrypt the data communication.
