Description: Stereo Investigator is software for stereology that provides users with statistically valid estimates of the number, length, area, and volume of cells or biological structures in a tissue specimen. The software operates in tandem with microscope hardware and allows users to work with images from confocal microscopes, electron microscopes, and scanning tomographic instruments, as well as create comprehensive maps of cells and anatomical regions.

Stereo Investigator does not utilize a database. The vendor asserts that no personal or patient information of any type is stored in or used by the software. No data is stored in the program itself. Data files consists of cell counts and images of slides; these are stored locally as regular files on the user`s hard drive.
