Description: Solis S (once known as MCD) is software installed on a Personal Computer (PC) which is required for the operation of the Andor Technology iDUS Series Charge Coupled Device (CCD) spectroscopic cameras. This technology is a control and analysis software platform specifically designed to run imaging, spectroscopy, and time resolved from cameras and associated accessories. The camera connects to the PC via Universal Serial Bus (USB) 2.0 cable which allows for data acquisition and processing.

Per the vendor, the data that is stored is in a proprietary format (.sif) that can only be opened within the program. Digital image data from the camera is sent to the PC via a Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI) interface card, held in resident memory, then transferred to Hard Disk.
